WILLIE G. DAVIS, JR. has had over 28 years of extensive legal experience. He is a Senior Staff Attorney for the State Court of Clayton County. He previously served as a Supervising Attorney with Kenny Leigh & Associates, as a Staff Attorney for the Law Offices of Matthew C. Hines, as a Senior Assistant Public Defendant, as the Chief Assistant Solicitor General in Clayton County, a Senior Attorney with Lister & Holt, L.L.C. and Founding and Managing Partner with Davis & Baldwin L.L.C. He also operated a general practice law firm, Willie G. Davis, Jr., P.C.,
He is a native Atlantan who was educated in the Atlanta Public School System. He earned his B.A. in Political Science and A.A. in Criminal Justice from Fort Valley State University. He has completed graduate courses in political science and public administration at Clark Atlanta University and Georgia State University. He earned his J.D. from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School. While there, he founded the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) and created the Student Honor Court. After graduating, he organized the John Marshall Law School Alumni Association, Inc.
Willie is highly active in civic, community, educational, and political organizations. Serving as a political consultant on local, state, and national campaigns and formerly as the Legislative Director of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus. He is an elected member of the State Committee of the Democratic Party of Georgia and the Fulton County Democratic Party Executive Committee, formerly serving as Vice Chair.
He is regularly active with the schools in his community. He currently serves as a member of the Georgia PTA Board of Director
He is the former School Board Chair of Berean Christian Junior Academy in Atlanta, Georgia, and the Chair of the Mayor’s Task Force on Education for the City of South Fulton.
He has also served as the college and career coach for Skyview High School, a Fulton County Charter School.
He enjoys tutoring middle school, high school, and college students in social science, government, history, and law. He also volunteers as a Career Day Speaker for private and public-school systems.
